The power consumption in Suriname is increasing each year by 10%. Fortunately, Suriname is getting richer so people of Suriname get to spend more each year, but that usually translates into more energy-using devices (for example air conditioners). Kekemba Resort Paramaribo had its first warm water solar system installed in January 2011. This device produces hot water for 3 studio apartments and the washing machine that our guests may use. Our second solar heater was put into operation in July 2011. This device is used for our bungalow and for the big washing machines of the resort itself. In 2016 the main building got his solar water heater in which also our 3Bedroom apartment is located.
